In a new natural history illustration class offered at UCSC, students work with specimens at the Norris Center for Natural History to create beautiful illustrations with a variety of mediums. Led by artist and science researcher Juniper Harrower, the students have created work used by scientists for science talks, manuscripts, and ini two published field guide books. This work will be featured alongside specimens from the Norris Center collection at the upcoming show: Inspired by Nature, located in the Window Galleries at the UCSC Art Department, May 26th - June 2nd.
